Insurance Plans Accepted

Be Heard Live Well is in-network with the following carriers. Coverage depends on your individual plan, as deductibles, co-pays or co-insurance, and authorization requirements vary.

United Healthcare

Cigna

Blue Cross Blue Shield

Aetna

Questions to ask your insurance carrier:

  1. Do I have mental health coverage?

  2. What is my co-pay or co-insurance for outpatient therapy?

  3. Do I have a deductible? Does it apply to outpatient therapy? How much has been met?

  4. Is there a session limit or pre-authorization requirement?

*Mental health coverage covers EMDR, you don't need special coverage for it.

I'll do everything I can to help you navigate this process but since plans vary so much, confirming your specific benefits with your carrier is the most reliable way to know what your benefits cover.

Self-Pay

Paying out of pocket is a good idea if you prefer not to use insurance or if you don't want your insurance carrier involved with your treatment.

Initial Session

$175

Intake session. Our time is used to understand your history and goals.

Ongoing Sessions

$150

Standard 50-minute session. Most people opt for weekly sessions, but we can meet as often as you need to.

Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

Under the No Surprises Act, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before treatment begins. If you would like an estimate, just ask and one will be provided to you.

Superbills for Out-of-Network Reimbursement

If you're using out-of-network benefits, I'll provide you a superbill after each session upon request. The superbill will have the information insurance companies need for reimbursement.

Things to know:

Reimbursement amounts are determined by your insurance carrier.

Reimbursement is not guaranteed so it's best to check with your insurance company beforehand.

You'll submit the superbill to your insurance directly.

EMDR & Session Frequency

Most therapy sessions occur weekly, which helps keep things consistent and allows you to continue making progress. However, EMDR therapy often involves special considerations related to pacing, preparation, and integration.

Because of this:

  • Session frequency depends on your individual needs

  • You may benefit from more frequent sessions during certain phases

  • Or you may need to space sessions out to allow time for processing and integration
